Julie's Request

Julie has asked us kids to let her know what AYP means to us! Julie is doing a workshop on AYP and would like to include what it means to us the Learners of Delta Vision.

So what does Adequate Yearly Progress mean to you? Post your comments here and we'll let Julie know!

Committe Ideas

Hey fellow students!

I wanted to write and let you know some of the ideas I had for committee's, please give me your input!

The first committee as some of you know is an Environmental Awareness Committee. Under this committee we will start a recycling program, a compost pile, and spread information on how to be 'environmentally aware'!

The second committee is an Outreach Committee. This is a committee that doesn't focus soley on the Vision Program, but on our community. Through this committee I hope that we can reach out to groups of people who need extra help, who aren't getting the help they need, or just need a little extra help to complete the help their already getting. Tomorrow I am going to call the Department of Health and Human Services and find out where we can help. I'll post tomorrow and let you know what I found out! I already have an idea, but will wait until just the right time to spill the beans!

I think that's all I have for right now, the rest of the Student Task Force should be posting here within the next week so keep checking! Let each other know what you think!

K.D.'s Committee Idea

Hey everyone! These are my committee ideas. It's called Hope and Homes with Heart (wow, that's gettin' deep). If you have any better suggestions, shoot. I was thinking of taking animals to the hospital to visit the patients to bring them joy and hope, thus the first part of the name. My other ideas are to raise community awareness of unwanted and abused animals. We would set up a Foster care system and rescue as many animals as we can and find homes for them, thus the latter part of the name. I was also thinking of setting up "clinics" to educate the community on the severity of unwanted and abused animals, what they should do if they find an animal in this situation, etc. If the community resonds well I was thinking we could do something at the Vision for everyone there and we could do more, so it would be more in depth and cover more topics. I also have noticed the excessive number of cats in Delta and am thinking about establishing a spay and neuter program. It would probably be once a month until we get the problem under control and we would have as many local vets that will come and just line the cats up, so people would get a reduced price. I might also be able to find grants for the cats that don't have owners.
